GLENN MURRAY leapt off the bench to rescue a point for Crystal Palace in a 1-1 draw at home to Blackpool.

Seasiders defender Alex Baptiste had given his the lead just before half-time before sub MURRAY equalised with 11 minutes left for his first Palace goal.

Blackpool had the better of the opening period with Brett Ormerod, Keith Southern, Billy Clarke and Kevin Phillips going close with decent oportunities.

Palace hit back with a Ryan McGivern header wide and Paddy McCarthy drew a save from goalkeeper Matt Gilks.

Then four minutes before the interval, Baptiste slotted past Julian Speroni from close range after Barry Ferguson played him through.

After the break, Dean Moxey hit the crossbar with a long-range effort before MURRAY entered the fray, seeing a header saved by Gilks.

The pair linked up for the equalising goal, with Moxey crossing from the left and MURRAY sweeping home to maintain Palace's unbeaten run of five matches.

Palace: Speroni, Moxey, McCarthy, Tunchev, McGivern (Zaha 64), Ambrose (MURRAY 70), Wright (Garvan 78), Jedinak, Parr, Easter, Scannell.

Not Used: Price, Ramage.

Blackpool: Gilks, Baptiste, Evatt, Cathcart, Crainey, Southern, Taylor-Fletcher, Ferguson, Clarke (Sylvestre 64), Kevin Phillips, Ormerod (Ince 90).

Not Used: Halstead, Hill, Sutherland.
